Finding key non-player characters in Elden Ring often requires exploring subtle locations across the vast Lands Between. Latenna the Albinauric is an essential NPC who provides valuable lore and a powerful spirit summon, but initiating her questline requires specific steps in Liurnia. Knowing where to look and how to prepare prevents missing out on her unique storyline and endgame rewards.
Starting the Quest in the Village of the Albinaurics
Before locating Latenna herself, players must first visit the Village of the Albinaurics, located beneath the western cliffs of Liurnia. Search for an old man named Albus, who disguises himself as a large pot on the upper slope. Hitting or rolling into the pot reveals Albus, who hands over the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right) before passing away.
Acquiring this medallion is mandatory because Latenna will not trust the player without it. It is crucial to complete this step early, as collecting both medallion halves before speaking to Latenna will cause her quest to fail.
Locating the Slumbering Wolf's Shack
Once you possess the right half of the medallion, head to the southern shore of the Liurnia lake to enter the Lakeside Crystal Cave. Navigate through the cavern and defeat the Bloodhound Knight boss at the bottom. Instead of returning to the entrance, exit through the rear opening to reach the Slumbering Wolf's Shack.
Latenna rests beside her fallen wolf companion near the Site of Grace. Presenting the medallion earns her trust, prompting her to offer her assistance as a spirit summon to reach Miquella's Haligtree.
Reaching Castle Sol for the Left Medallion
To fulfill Latenna's wish, players must obtain the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) located far to the north in the Mountaintops of the Giants. Travel to Castle Sol and defeat Commander Niall, one of the game's most challenging bosses.
After defeating him, ascend to the roof to collect the remaining piece of the key. With both halves secured, return to the Grand Lift of Rold and choose the option to hoist the secret medallion to enter the Consecrated Snowfield.
Completing Latenna's Storyline at Apostate Derelict
Upon arriving in the snow-covered region, travel to the far northwestern corner to find the Apostate Derelict church. Be cautious of the nearby Walking Mausoleum while approaching the giant Albinauric woman resting inside.
Stand before her and interact with the prompt to summon Latenna. She will express her gratitude and reward you with a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, marking the official end of her quest.
